First Doll Completed! – Meet Rosalind

Oye! Everyone! – It has been too long since I updated.  I’ve been doing more reading and watching of anime than crafting lately, so that’s my excuse.  But a few days ago I got a big burr in my side and decided to finish my doll.

Here she is! My husband named her Rosalind.  She is the first doll I have completed.  I hope all of you will tell me what you think!

She is hand sculpted from polymer clay – even the button eyes, body was painted several times, sealed and sanded.  Hair is wool roving.  Clothes are handsewn/stitched by me.  She is jointed at the hips, knees, shoulders and elbows.  ( I might give her a new pair of legs – these seem a bit short and don’t stick out from the dress at all – what do ya’ll think?)

The start of many more to come, I hope!

Congratulations on your first doll! I like it that she is your own style of doll. Yes the lips are luscious! And her frayed pink dress design is Gothic chic! Nice work!
(If you try Creative Paper Clay, you will get hooked! You can join Jane DesRosiers' Cloth and Clay doll ning for $10 a year, you won't be disappointed. I have been a member there since the fall of 2008. There is a cloth and clay doll workshop with videos, and many doll members to see the the photos of their dolls, and you get your own page to show photos of your dolls.
Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, Tabitha
I like the cat your sister has in her Etsy shop.
Hope you are doing well, dear
I do hope to go to the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo when that even happens...it looks so charming and I love the S.L.O. area...it is like parts of Scotland when everything is green.
hugs
